"I am continually inspired by the beauty of the land and sky, as well as the artistic heritage of landscape painting, in particular, the Hudson River School, Luminist and Tonalist painters.  My works are my response to those particular moments of  deep connection to spirit experienced in  nature. Through painting the landscape, I seek to connect with something beyond everyday life. Painting becomes my tool for conveying the essence, mystery and transient quality found in nature."

Jane Bloodgood-Abrams received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1987, and a Bachelor of Studio Arts degree from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY in 1985. She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and is listed in "Who's Who in American Art." In 2002 Jane Bloodgood-Abrams was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists.

Her work has been chosen for numerous regional, national and international exhibitions, including the New York State Biennial at the NY State Museum in Albany, as well as exhibitions in Austria, Italy and Germany.  Bloodgood-Abrams' paintings have won many awards including "Best of Show" in the Young Artists of the Hudson Valley exhibition. She has been an Artist in Residence through the Catskill Center and received a grant from the New York Council  for the Arts for this project.  Bloodgood-Abrams has also received a grant from the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation.

The artist's work is included in numerous private and public collections and is represented by galleries across the country and in the Hudson Valley region of New York State including DFN Galleries, NY, NY;  Carrie Haddad Gallery, Hudson, NY; The Harrison Gallery, Williamstown, MA;  and Meyer East Galleries, Santa Fe, NM.
